Call for Collaboration: Updating Directories of Oaxaca's Artesanos
Planeta.com is deepening its work with artesanos in Oaxaca.
"We currently have directories of weavers in a few towns on the Oaxaca Wikispace," said Ron Mader, founder of Planeta.com. "We had been featuring the artesanos on the Planeta.com website but it just makes sense to move information that can be collectively edited to the Oaxaca Wikispace."
"If we value Oaxaca's crafts, we need to make sure that visitors are informed and engaged before they arrive," Mader said. This work - part of the local travel movement - is maturing in age of the social web.
